3 persons, including 2 Indians, held in Nepal for smuggling hashish

Three persons, including two Indians, were arrested in two separate cases for allegedly being involved in of hashish, police said on Monday.

In the first case, two Indian nationals were arrested from Birgunj during a security check at the Indo-border, they said.

Police recovered a total of nine kg from Mohmad Sakil, 38, a resident of Kolkata and Mohmmad Bishal, 26, an Indian national living in Birgunj municipality of district, when they were going back to India, carrying 4 kg and 5 kg respectively.

In a separate incident, a 28-year-old Nepali citizen was arrested from Lalbandi Municipality of district for allegedly being involved in of the contraband, police said.

Acting on a tip off, police raided a house and recovered five kg hidden there, they said, adding that all the three were arrested and a matter is being probed.
