3 young boys drown in pond

Three young boys today drowned in a pond while taking bath at Gardinagar village in Rajpura area of the district, police said.

Five boys today jumped to a pond to take bath, however, three boys Sanjeev Kumar (13), Nitin Kumar (10) and Gurdhyan Singh (9) drowned as they got stuck in the mud at the bottom of pond, they said.

The other two kids, who managed to come out, raised alarm.

Later, boys were rescued by villagers and were taken to a local hospital where they breathed their last, police said.
