As many as 30 child labourers were rescued from bangle-making and embroidery workshops in the city and five people were arrested in the connection, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, raids were conducted today at a slum area in Bhatta Basti and at a house in Kotwali area where 30 children were found working as labourers, they said.
"16 children were engaged in bangle making work in a workshop in Kotwali area. Three men identified as Bablu Aalam, Mohammad Mehboob and Mohammad Hussain were arrested from there," police said.

In Bhatta Basti 14 minors were rescued from two places, they said, adding the children were working in bangle making and embroidery units.
Two people namely Shehzad and a woman Khushnaseeb Khatun were also arrested from the venue, police said.
The rescued children hail from Bihar, West Bengal and nearby areas and have been handed over to the child welfare committee, they added.
