30-yr-old man killed in celebratory firing

A 30-year-old man was killed allegedly in celebratory firing during a marriage function in Pratapgarh district, official sources said here today.

Abdul Majid was hit in firing last night by one Ajit Pratap whose sister was getting married in Madhupur village in the district's Kauhdaur area, IG (law and order) RK Vishwakarma said.

Pratap, who is yet to be arrested, had fired from his licensed double barrel gun, hitting Majid, who was killed on the spot.
