31 sovereigns gold jewellery burgled from house

About 31 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth Rs 6.2 lakh were burgled in the wee hours today from the residence here of an optical shop owner allegedly by unidentified persons, police said.

The burglary came to light when the inmates of the house in the complex also housing the shop, opposite to central bus stand, found the door and grill gate broken, they said.

A complaint was lodged with the police.
