375 cartons of smuggled liquor seized in Shamli

A man was arrested and 375 cartons of liquor allegedly smuggled from Punjab were seized from his possession in neighbouring Shamli district, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a vehicle at Yamuna bridge in Kairana in Shamli district yesterday and seized the smuggled liquor valued at Rs 25 lakhs, Circle Officer Nishank Sharma said here.

The arrested person was identified as Charan Singh.
