38 executed for 'terrorism' in southern Iraq

Prison authorities in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah hanged 38 convicts on death row for terrorism offences today, a senior provincial council official said.

It was the largest number of executions in a single day since September 25 when 42 people were put to death in the same prison.
