4 arrested with charas worth Rs 50 lakh

Four persons were today arrested with contraband worth about Rs 50 lakh from Civil Lines area in Etawah district, a police spokesman said.

The accused -- Vikas Kumar, Samvahalak Shah, Lalit Kumar and Dharmendra -- were arrested by Etawah police this morning and 5 kg charas was recovered from their possession, he said.

The spokesman said that charas recovered is worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market.

During interrogation, the arrested persons revealed that they used to smuggle the contraband from Nepal via Bihar, the spokesman added.
