Police today seized four country-made pistols and nine live cartridges from a resident of Ambala Cantonment here.
According to DCP Arun Singh, acting on a tip-off, police raided the residence of Jagpreet and seized a country-made pistol and four cartridges from his possession.
Jagpreet was arrested. During interrogation, he told the police that he had kept more weapons hidden in the tube well of his field at Rampur Sarsehri village near Ambala Cantonment.
Subsequently, police recovered three more country-made pistols and five cartridges from the spot.
A case was lodged at Mahesh Nagar police station under relevant sections of the IPC against the accused, who was produced in a local court, which granted his police remand for two days.
