4 get life term for abduction, murder

A local court today sentenced four persons to life term for abducting and murdering a man in 2007.

Additional District Judge S N Tripathi sentenced Hari Singh, Jitendra Singh, Ram Chandra and Nanhe to life term for killing Shyam Singh and imposed a fine of Rs 86,000 on each of them, prosecution sources said.

Shyam Singh of Mamaurgang village went missing on April 8, 2007 and a case of kidnapping and murder was lodged by his father, the sources said.

During the course of investigation, names of the four had emerged and police had filed a charge sheet against them for abducting and killing the victim.
