4 gold rods seized from air passenger

Customs officials today seized four gold rods, weighing one kg and valued at Rs 26 lakh, from a passenger who arrived from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur at the airport near here today.
The rods were found concealed in an electric oven of the checked in baggage of the passenger, customs officials said.
The gold was seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
