Four persons were injured in a clash between BJP and ruling Trinamool Congress activists at troubled Parui in Birbhum district during a visit by BJP state president Rahul Sinha to a nearby village.

The four were returning to their homes in the village when the clash broke out and maskets (improvised guns) and bombs were freely used, police said.

One of them sustained bullet injuries and was taken to Suri Hospital.

SDPO Bolpur Suryaprasad Yadav led a force to the area and raids were on.

Sinha blamed TMC at a public meeting at Ambati, 10 km away from the spot.

Parui had wtinessed an attack on the officer-in-charge of the local police station and three constables on October 24.

The village is adjacent to Chakmondola where three persons were killed in a clash between BJP and TMC men on October 27.

Days after the clash, on November 2, a team of local BJP leaders was stopped by the police from entering Chakmondola on the ground that prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC had been imposed there.
