A four-year-old was
allegedly raped at Manikunda village in Odisha's Kendrapara district triggering public outrage, police said today.
The 20-year-old perpetrator of the crime had lured the child by offering her chocolates and raped her yesterday. He fled the village after committing the offence, said P K Singh, sub-inspector of Marshaghai police station, where her parents lodged their complaint.
The child was medically examined, the police said adding a team has been constituted to apprehend the offender at the earliest, he said.
A case has been registered under sections of POSCO and the IPC, Singh added.
