49 candidates file nomination in Rajasthan

49 candidates today filed nomination papers in five constituencies where polling is slated in second phase on April 24.

Jagmohan Meena, brother of tribal leader and MLA Kirori Meena, filed nomination from Tonk Sawaimadhopur constituency as National People's Party candidate.

Kirori Meena is also contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Dausa constituency.

31 Independents are among the 49 candidates who filed nominations on the last day today in Dausa, Tonk Sawaimadhopur, Alwar, Bharatpur and Karauli-Dholpur constituencies taking the total number of nominations filed so far in the second phase to 112.

Scrutiny of nominations of these five constituencies will take place on April 7.
 

Out of total 25 constituencies, 20 will go to poll on April 17 and the remaining five, where the last date of nomination withdrawal is April 9, will take place on April 24.

A total of 239 candidates are in the fray for 20 constituencies going to poll on the first day.
