5 dead from separate lightning strikes in UP

Five persons were killed after being after being struck by lightning in Sultanpur and Jaunpur districts, police said.

In Sultanpur, Sandeep (15) of Lambhua area, Hariram Pal (50) of Jaisinghpur and Sachin (14) of Kadipur were killed after being stuck by lightning yesterday, they said.

In a similar incident, Durgawati (45) and Manti Devi (55) of Jitapur village in Jaunpur were killed due to lightning, they said.

All the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
