Five persons, including three woman were killed and 40 others injured today when a speeding bus turned turtle and fell in a roadside ditch near Illambazar area in Birbhum district, the police said.
According to the district police, the vehicle was travelling at a high speed and lost control which led to the accident. The victims are all residents of Durgapur, he said.
The injured have been admitted to the hospitals in Bolpur and Durgapur and their identity are being ascertained, they said.
