Five persons were killed and eight injured when a tanker collided with a bus near Karad on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway, police said.
The accident happened near Belvade village in Western Maharashtra, Satara Police said.
The injured have been rushed to the government hospital in Karad and some to another private hospital there.
The driver of the tanker is absconding.
