Police today busted a gang of five persons involved in making fake registry papers for immovable properties.
Acting on a complaint by a city resident that some persons were trying to sell his nearly six-acre land on Kanadia Road on the basis of fake registry papers, police launched an investigation, Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) Vinay Prakash Paul told reporters.
The accused gang members, identified as Faizanuddin Siddiqui, Narendra Jain, Bhuvneshwar Singh Gautam, Manoj Tanwar and Jayant Malviya, were arrested, he said.
Police also recovered fake registry papers of five other properties from their possession, he said, adding further investigation is on.
