5 officials suspended over Rs 72 cr underground cable scam

The district administration has suspended five officials in connection with a Rs 72 crore underground cable scam.

Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Yadav today said the scam came into fore in 2010-11 following which the then VC Santosh Kumar had submitted a report to the administration.

On the basis of the report, five officials - Ramangina Tripati, Amrit Pal Singh, Rajveer Mawi, Kamlesh Pandey and Nikhil Bhatt - were suspended by the district administration on June 19.
