50 more companies of central forces for BTAD: DGP

Choudhury, who reviewed the prevailing situation, told reporters here that deployment of ''additional forces is not a problem as 50 more companies would soon arrive and assist in normalising the situation.

''The situation is tense and strong action will be taken to bring it under control. A strict vigil is being maintained and we appeal to people not to circulate rumours or pay heed to it'', he said.

The DGP also appealed to the people to maintain peace and ''work with us to restore peace''.

He further urged the media to cooperate.
