50 school girls fall sick

At least 50 school girls were taken ill after tiffin hours in their school at Bisnupur in South 24 Parganas district today.

A district health department official said the girls complained of stomach ache and vomiting after tiffin hours.

They were rushed to Amtala Rural Hospital and M R Bangur Hospital in south Kolkata and their condition was stated to be stable.

The official said the girls were stated to be suffering from enteric disease caused by water.
