A 50-year-old man today immolated himself allegedly due to a long-pending land dispute, police said.
Arvind Kumar Ojha, belonging to Ujhauli village under Badhalganj police station area, sprinkled kerosene and immolated himself, SP (rural) Brijesh Singh said.
Ojha had earlier given an application to the concerned officials for resolving his land related dispute which was pending for a long time.
He had recently sent a letter to the district administration that if his case was not solved by December 12 he would immolate himself outside the village temple, the SP said.
The matter is being investigated and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, the SP added.
