54-year-old central govt employee found murdered

A 54-year-old central government employee was found murdered near the Tirunelveli-Nagercoil railway track at a village near here today, police said.

Following information, police rushed to the spot at Muppanendal village bordering Kanyakumari district and recovered the body of Subbiah, employee of the Tirunelveli Customs and Excise Commissioner's office.

His wife and seven-year-old foster daughter were found murdered at their house in Nagercoil on December 10.

The motive behind the murder is being investigated, Kanyakumari SP Manivannan said.
