55 kg worth ganja seized

Fifty five kg of ganja was today seized from a woman rail passenger and her brother by Narcotic Intelligence Bureau officials near Podanur on the outskirts of the city.

Based on a tip off, NIB sleuths searched the Egmore-Mangaluru passenger train and seized the narcotic from Kavitha (33) and her brother Anburaj (28).

They were being questioned to know the source of the drug and whom it was intended to be supplied to, police said.

The exact value of the seizure was being ascertained, they added.
