58-year-old UP farmer killed

A 58-year-old farmer was today strangulated to death by unidentified persons in Dhanari area here, police said.

Mordhwaj was strangulated by unidentified persons early this morning at his residence in Babubhur village, Dhanari police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar said.

The assailants also tried to took away his tractor but it was recovered at some distance from his house, he said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, the police officer said, adding the matter was being investigated.
