6 ft long dolphin washed ashore near Vedaranyam

A six-feet long dolphin, weighing around one tonne, had been washed ashore at Maniam Theevu near here early this morning, forest officials said.

The two year-old dolphine would have died after colliding with a ship or trawler or even a rock, they said.

It had been seized and taken for post mortem, officials said.
