6 killed, 8 injured in road mishap in Rajasthan

Six persons, including three women, were killed and eight others were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in rammed against a roadside tree on Kota-Lalsot Mega Highway in the district today.

The incident took place near Amreta village under Keshoraipatan police station area when the victims were returning to Indore (MP) after attending a marriage in Tonk city.

Six persons were killed on the spot as a loading pick-up vehicle, carrying around 15 people, collided against a roadside tree on Kota-Lalsot Mega Highway this afternoon, Station House Officer, Keshoraipatan police station, Ajeet Mehgwanshi said.

The injured, two of them in critical condition, were rushed to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) Hospital in Kota where they are undergoing medical treatment, Meghwanshi said.
 

All the people are reported to be residents of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh and were returning after attending a marriage function in Tonk city, the SHO said.

A case would be lodged in this connection and investigation into the matter is on, he said.
