6 killed in accident in Pakistan

At least six members of a family were killed today after a jeep skidded off from a mountain and plunged into a river in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar.

The accident occurred in scenic Bahrain valley of Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when the driver lost control over the vehicle and the jeep plunged into Swat river, killing six people, police said.

The local residents rushed to the area to rescue the victims.

Five bodies, including three children and a woman, have been retrieved so far, police said.
