6 killed in car-jeep collision in Patiala

Six persons, including one child and two women, were killed and two others injured in a car-jeep collision here, police said today.

The accident took place last night at around 1 AM near village Chuppki when two couples along with their children were returning to their homes from Patiala to Samana in a car after celebrating their marriage anniversaries, police said.

When they reached near village Chuppki, their car collided head-on with a jeep coming from an opposite direction, they said.

The deceased have been identified as Gaurav (28), his wife Archana (26), Ankush (25), his wife Sandeep (23), one-year-old boy Ayam, and jeep driver Makhan Ram (32).
 

Another one-year-old girl Rishu was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition, police said, adding an injured occupant of the jeep has been admitted to a government hospital.
