Six more pilgrims, who consumed adulterated milk and milk products from community kitchens during 'Annakoot' at Radha Kund on Tuesday night, were admitted to a health centre in Goverdhan with symptoms of food poisoning.

Since Tuesday night the Health Department has treated at least 550 pilgrims, of whom 220 cases were referred to hospitals, Chief Medical Officer Vivek Mishra said.

"The six new pilgrims were admitted to the Goverdhan Community Health Centre. There are 28 cases now at the health centre," he said.

Meanwhile, a team lead by SDM M P Singh, raided shops to check food adulteration, especially those selling milk products in Radha Kund.

"So far samples from seven shops have been collected and sent to the Food Safety Department for testing," Singh said, adding raids would continue.
