600 gms gold ingots seized

Gold ingots, weighing 600 grams and valued at Rs 20 lakh, were today seized from a passenger at the city airport, police said.

During a routine check, customs department officials grew suspicious about the movement of a passenger, Mohammed Abdullah and on searching him, they found six biscuits concealed in the underwear, police said.

Abdullah, who arrived from Singapore, was taken into custody and is being interrogated, they said.
