7 gamblers arrested, over Rs 3 lakh recovered

Seven gamblers were arrested and over Rs three lakh cash was recovered from them during a raid conducted in Barah area here, police said today.

They were arrested from a vacant flat belonging to Sudhir Sachan in Barah area last night.

Acting on a tip-off about a large scale gambling racket operating from this house and involvement of some known businessmen, police raided the house and recovered over Rs three lakh cash.

The accused Sudhir Sachan, Rakesh Vajpayee, Ashok, Ajay, Nafeez were arrested along with two others, police said, adding that further investigation is underway in this connection.
