At least seven militants, involved in blowing up gas pipelines, were today killed by Pakistani security forces in troubled Baluchistan province.
The militants were killed in a heavy exchange of fire with security forces during a search operation in the Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti district, a spokesman for the Frontier Corps said.
The militants were involved in blowing up gas pipelines and other subversive activities, the official said.

Rocket launchers, improvised explosive devices, bombs and other weapons were recovered from the militants, who belonged to a defunct militant group operating in the area, the official said.
Baluchistan has seen a rise in attacks on gas pipelines in the resources rich Dera Bugti district where the Sui Gas is located.
