70th EME Corps day celebrated

The 70th Corps Day of the

Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) was held today with a wreath laying ceremony at the Western Command War Memorial "Veer Smriti" in Chandimandir near here.

On the occasion, Maj Gen Paramjit Singh along with other senior serving and retired EME officers laid wreath to pay homage to the valiant EME soldiers who made sacrifices for the country, said a defence spokesman.

Various other functions were also organised to mark the occasion which included Sainik Sammelan, he said.

The role of Corps of EME, which completed 70 years today, is to achieve and maintain the operational fitness of electronic, mechanical, electrical and optical equipment of the Indian Army.
