Proving it is 'better later than never', 74-year-old Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) today for the first time used the medium of video conferencing facility for communication purposes.
PAC's Director General Ranjan Dwivedi used the facility to discuss with his Battalion chiefs the suggestions for improvements in the Force manual which is quite old.
"We are promoting use of new technology in the PAC. In this regard today we used video conferencing facility to communicate with our officers across the state from the headquarters of the force," he said.
The force was set up in 1940 during the second World War when 13 companies of Uttar Pradesh Military Police were raised to deal with internal security issues prevailing that time.
