A 75-year-old man was killed allegedly by the paramour of his daughter-in-law at Sallowal village under Ghoman police station here, police said today.
Bachan Singh was murdered while he was asleep at his house by Manjinder Singh and his accomplices late last night, they said.
The accused was in an illicit relationship with the victim's daughter-in-law, which, the police suspected, could be a reason being the murder.
A few days ago, Manjinder had forcibly entered Bachan Singh's house and tried to strangle him.
A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against Manjinder Singh and his three unidentified accomplices, police said.
