8 arrested for gambling in Varanasi

Eight persons were today arrested for allegedly indulging in gambling and nearly Rs 2,600 in cash has been recovered from them in Varanasi, police said.

The eight were arrested during a raid in Malahiya area under Ramnagar Police Station.

Among the eight, seven were from Varanasi and another was a resident of Mirzapur district, they said.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the issue.
