8-year-old raped, murdered in UP

A youth allegedly raped and murdered an eight-year-old girl here in Rasoolpur locality, police said today.

The girl was raped by one Dileep (23) yesterday when she was outside her house in the locality, they said.

The accused slit the throat of the girl before surrendering to police.

A probe is on in the matter and police have sent the body of the victim for postmortem.
