8-yr-old raped in UP, accused arrested

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Mujaria village in the district, following which the accused was arrested, police said today.

The incident took place on Friday when the minor was playing outside her house and 35-year-old Vijay Yadav took her to a secluded place and raped her, they said.

Later, villagers caught him and handed him over to the police after beating him badly.

Police have registered an FIR in this case yesterday and arrested the accused.
