800th Ajmer Urs begins

The first 'Mehfil' of the Urs and the ceremony of 'Gusl' will be held tonight in the Dargah, which are likely to be attended by Zayrines (pilgrims) in large numbers.

"Chadars" from UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be offered in the Dargah tomorrow, sources in the Congress and BJP said.

Elaborate security and shelter arrangements have been made by the district administration in view of the large number of pilgrims expected to take part in the annual Urs.
