At least nine children from Assam were today rescued from various places in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh who were engaged as labourers.
Sonitpur district Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parasar said the nine children were rescued under 'Operation Muskan' from various locations in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
"The nine children, including three girls, aged 8 to 12 years, were engaged as a child labourers in the neighbouring district for the last few months," she added.
The children hailed from Chariduar in Sonitpur and Udalguri districts.
