9 held for stealing crude oil from pipeline

Nine members of a gang have been arrested here for alleged theft of crude oil from Paradip-Haldia underground pipeline, police said.

The members were involved in stealing crude oil from Paradip-Haldia underground pipeline. They were arrested yesterday near Rupsa, Balasore SP Niti Sekhar said.

Acting on a tip off, the police raided the spot, where the crude oil was being collected, and arrested the members of the gang, Sekhar said.

The gang members hail from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab and Odisha, the SP said.
