Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today presented President's Police Medals for gallantry, distinguished and meritorious services to 90 state police personnel at an investiture ceremony here.
Vohra presented medals for 2011 and 2012 to the police personnel at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan, an official spokesman said.
Thirty-six were awarded President's Police Medals for gallantry, 5 for distinguished service and 49 for meritorious service, he said.
Family members of one of the jawans, who laid down his life safeguarding the security of the nation, received the medal, the spokesman said.
The Governor interacted with recipients of the medals and lauded their valour and devotion to duty.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his cabinet colleagues, senior civil and police officers were present on the occasion.
