A G West Kharkongar was today appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Shillong-based North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO).
He has been appointed to the post till August 31, 2019, the date of his superannuation, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Kharkongar is presently Director (Finance) in NEEPCO.
The corporation was incorporated in 1976 to plan, investigate, design, construct, generate, operate and maintain power stations in the north eastern region of the country.
NEEPCO works under the Ministry of Power and is conferred with the Schedule A- Miniratna Category-I central public sector enterprises status by the government of India.
