The Maharashtra unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today launched its women's wing.
The wing was launched on the occasion of International Women's Day. To mark the day, the party also organised a convention with the theme 'the Status of Women' in the 21st century.
The convention and subsequent launching of the women's wing took place in Shivaji Mandir in Dadar, said senior AAP Maharashtra leader Brigadier (retd) Sudhir Sawant.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said, "We must endeavour to expand the role of women in the 21st century through change in fundamental character of the system and increased participation of women."
Senior AAP women leaders unveiled the logo of the new wing, whose chief will be announced later," a senior party leader said.
