Abandoned fibreglass boat from Sri Lanka seized

: A fibreglass boat from Sri Lanka was seized by police at the nearby coastal town of Thangachimadam today, but its two occupants fled on seeing them.

Police said a 'Q' branch patrol team in that town received a tip off and rushed to the seashore. However the duo spotted them, abandoned the boat and fled the area, they said.

Further inquiries are on, police said.
