Abducted IAF jawan rescued

An IAF jawan, who was abducted on October 2, was rescued from Garo hills in Meghalaya, a police officer said today.

Anand Mohan Das, who went missing from the IAF station at Borjhar when someone called him out on October 2, was rescued from the neighbouring state last night, Guwahati Senior Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari said.

During his capitivity, Rs 20 lakh had been demanded from his family as ransom.

Four persons were arrested in connection with the abduction, he said.
