AC/DC drummer charged for hiring hitmen for murder

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with attempting to arrange a murder in New Zealand besides threatening to kill and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.

Rudd, 60, attempted to arrange the murder of two men and was arrested on Thursday, the Variety reported quoting the New Zealand news site SunLive.

Rudd's Taraunga home was raided before he appeared in the court later. He is set to appear in the court again in three weeks.

The drummer is accused of arranging the murder between September 25 and 26, according to court documents obtained by SunLive. The drugs were found in his home when police arrested him.
 

The musician joined the Australian band in 1975, but was kicked out in 1983. He rejoined in 1994 and has been with the band ever since.

Rudd has a history of legal trouble. He was charged for cannabis possession in 2010.
