The Anti-Corruption Bureau, which is probing the 'ekal patta' land scam, today issued alert to concerned agencies, including Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Enforcement Directorate, to be on a lookout for former IAS officer G S Sandhu who is at large since being summoned by the agency in the case last month.

"Resident agencies including IB, ED, airport authority, have been alerted about Sandhu who is allegedly involved in Ekal Patta (single land deed) case and has not been traced. The ACB had summoned him in the case late last month," a senior ACB official said here.

The bureau suspects that Sandhu, the then Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Ministry, who is an accused in the case might try to fly abroad, so local resident agencies were issued an alert to be on a lookout for any movement by Sandhu, the official said.

However, his anticipatory bail is pending in the local and Rajsthan High Court for hearing, he said.

Yesterday, former UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal was quizzed for over two hours in connection with the case in which land deed of about 14 beegha was granted to Ganapati Construction Company by flouting rules of Jaipur Development Authority and Rajasthan Tenancy Act, when he was the UDH minister.

Former IAS officer Sandhu and RAS officer Onkar Mal Saini have been evading arrest after being summoned by ACB, the officer said.

So far ACB has arrested Nishkam Diwakar, the then Secretary of UDH and now CEO of Banswara Zila Parishad and Shailendra Garg, owner of the construction company in the case.
