ACP suspended following arrest in disproportionate assets case

An assistant commissioner with the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate here has been suspended following his arrest in a disproportionate assets case.

Telangana director general of police Anurag Sharma issued the order suspending N Sanjeeva Rao, ACP of Kukatpally division, after the anti-corruption bureau registered a case against him for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The ACB arrested Rao on November 14. He has been remanded to judicial custody till November 27.

The suspension comes into effect from the day he was detained, i.E., November 14, an official release said quoting the DGP.

"He shall continue to be under suspension in public interest till the conclusion of disciplinary proceeding/termination relating to the criminal charges in the ACB case," the DGP said.
